This page is where I will be putting any information I have found myself (meaning nothing from interviews or others will be found here - go to the research and interviews tab for that)
List of Inventions
A list of inventions, and some general information about them
Eyeglasses
Invented in Northern Italy around the late 13th century. The original inventor's name seems to have been lost to history, although sources vary between Salvino D'Armati and Friar Alessandrio della Spina as possible inventors. The original purpose of the invention was to help elderly people and far-sighted people with tasks such as reading - although it is important to keep in mind that a lot of the literate people during the Middle Ages were rich nobles or members of the clergy - meaning the eyeglasses was mostly originally limited to the rich.
